Dr. Richard W. Harrison

Dr. Richard W. Harrison received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with an emphasis on Soviet studies and the Russian language. He received his PhD in War Studies from King’s College London, UK. He previously worked for the Department of Defense’s Office of POW/MIA Affairs at the American embassy in Moscow and has taught at a number of colleges and universities, including the United States Military Academy West Point. He is the author of three original works on Soviet military history, as well as a number of articles for journals and other collections. Dr. Harrison has translated more than a dozen military-historical works from Russian into English and continues to work in this area. He currently lives near Carlisle Pennsylvania with his family.
